Jacques Bergé trained in his native city of Brussels and later at the studio of Nicolas Coustou in Paris. He completed his training by spending several years in Italy. In 1722 he settled in Brussels and became a free master of the Guild of the Quatre Couronnés. He was appointed co-director of
