Painter. Portraits, genre scenes, still-lifes.

Jacques Berger studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyons from 1848, under Guichard and Danguin. He made his Salon debut in Lyons in 1867, and in Paris in 1888. Like many other Lyons painters, he produced textile designs before becoming a teacher
