Born 11 February 1777, in Antwerp; died 1838, in Paris.

Painter, sculptor. Religious subjects, landscapes, animals.

Jean-Baptiste Berré studied at the Antwerp academy. In 1802 he exhibited a Mater Dolorosa, which was followed by other works in 1804 and 1807. In 1808 he settled in Paris, where he exhibited at the Salon until 1837. The Luxembourg Museum purchased his painting
