Born 20 March 1913, in Metz; died 22 January 2011.

Painter, sculptor, engraver.

Solange Bertrand studied at the art schools in Nancy, where she spent four years, and in Paris. During World War II she worked as a qualified voluntary nurse with the armed forces, in children's centres among children sent away from bombed areas and with prisoners and deportees being repatriated.
