French, 17th century, male.

Active from 1620 to 1635.

Born 1579, in Arles, of provençale origin; died 1650.

Painter. Religious subjects, mythological subjects, genre scenes.

At first glance this painter does not seem as significant as Georges de La Tour, but there are similarities between the two artists. Until the late 20th-century, the existence of a Provençale painter named Trophime Bigot, was known only through archive documentation.
