Painter. Portraits, landscapes, winter landscapes, seascapes, naval battles.

Hudson River School.

Thomas Birch settled in the United States around 1793 and initially painted portraits. He later moved on to the depiction of scenes from the 1812 war. He also had some success with landscapes, particularly snow scenes.
