Aimé Blaise was an apprentice turner who attended courses at Valenciennes academy. In 1895, he went to Paris and started training under Louis Barrias and Jules Coutan. He was awarded the Premier Grand Prix for sculpture in Rome in 1904, and the Premier Grand Prix in 1906. He
