Born 1849, in Essônes near Château-Thierry (Aisne); died 19 August 1908, in Férolles near Crécy-en-Brie (Seine-et-Marne).

Painter. Military subjects.

While a lawyer's clerk, Albert Bligny was attracted to an artistic career by the success of his friend Pille, and he joined Bonnat's studio. He exhibited at the Paris salon from 1875.

He specialised in military subjects, which he painted in bright colours,
