Painter (gouache), miniaturist. Religious subjects, allegorical subjects, mythological subjects, landscapes.

Frans Boels was the stepson and pupil of Hans Bol. He became a Protestant and followed his stepfather to Holland. Boels painted miniature landscapes and gouaches. His work is very rare, but is known to include Three Mountainous Landscapes with Mythological Figures (gouache) and The Four Seasons (gouache)
