Painter, engraver, draughtsman (including charcoal).

Boetzel received training from Best, Hotelin, Régnier and Fayen-Perrin. As a wood engraver, he worked on a considerable number of illustrated journals and publications. He was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur. He published an album reproducing the best paintings from the Salon each year from
