Boissonnet studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. He was a friend of Roger Bissière and André Lhote.

Most of his paintings were of landscapes in the Bordelais region.

He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Tuileries in 1945, the Salon de
