Born 1605 or 1606, in Carrara; died 1656, in Naples, of the plague.

Sculptor.

Andrea Bolgi studied under Pietro Tacca and under Bernini. He assisted the latter from 1636, collaborating on a number of projects, including the Mausoleum of Countess Matilda of Tuscany (1633-1637) in St Peter's in Rome. He also sculpted a monumental St Helena for one of the four piers of
