Pupil of Jules Brouwers at the St Luke's Academy in Schaerbeek (Brussels) and at Antwerp Academy; awarded silver at the Godecharle Awards in 1932-1934 and a Prix de Rome in 1940. Martin Bolle painted sentimental portraits of clowns and dancers in shades
