Born 1805, in Paris; died 5 September 1860, in Falaise (Calvados).

Painter, draughtsman. Church interiors, landscapes, urban views, architectural views, harbour scenes.

Bourgeois de Mercey was awarded the second-class medal in 1838 and was decorated in 1843. On Bonnieu's retirement, he became director of the fine art department. He exhibited frequently and over a very long period at the Paris Salon.
