Born 31 July 1823, in Marseilles; died November 1900, in Marseilles.

Painter. Scenes with figures, landscapes.

Orientalism.

A pupil of Émile Loubon in Marseilles, then of Troyon in Paris, Brest exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1851 to 1896. From 1855, he was in Turkey for four years.

His views of Constantinople and Asia Minor were painted in exquisite light tones.
