Engraver, draughtsman.

Brévière reintroduced the technique of engraving on wood, neglected in France since the 17th century. A pupil of J.-B. Descamps's art school in Rouen, he first set up in business in the city as a painter of trademarks, then as a general engraver. In 1815, he engraved the
