Thaddaeus Brodowski was taught by his father, Anton Brodowski, and after the latter's death studied under Blanke and Kokular. He then won a scholarship to study in Italy. In 1843 he left Italy for Paris, and he subsequently worked in Warsaw with Horace Vernet. At
