Léonce Burret studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, contributed to many humorous and satirical reviews and designed posters. A very lively caricaturist with an incisive line, he burlesqued the manners, politics, and social events of his times. His illustrations appeared in: Le Rire, Sourire,
