Painter, engraver. Portraits, interiors, landscapes, seascapes, still-lifes.

Georges Henri Carré studied under Gérôme, J-P. Laurens, B. Constant and Cormon at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Carré's still-lifes are painted in muted colours, as are his landscapes of Gatinais and Burgundy and his Normandy seascapes.
