Born 1609, in San Giovanni Bianco (Brembana Valley); died 1679, in Bergamo.

Painter. Religious subjects, portraits.

A pupil of Daniele Crespi, and probably also of Guido Reni, he is considered a key link between the Mannerism of Giovanni Battista Moroni and more naturalistic works of the 18th century. This transition is most fully demonstrated in his work Virgin in Glory with Saints
