Painter, pastellist. Religious subjects, figures, nudes, portraits, still-lifes.

Chantron was a pupil of Pirot, Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He began by painting genre and history scenes, portraits and still-lifes (flowers), later painting nudes in the style of Bouguereau. His works include Model Washing and Cicada. He first exhibited at the Salon
