Guillaume Chasteau was a pupil of Greuter and of Bloemaert. After a long period in Rome, he returned to Paris and was employed by Colbert. Historical records refer to his 41 plates of Christian theology (after Nicolas Poussin, A. Carrache, P. Berrettini, R. Sanzio, N. Coypel and F.
