Born 9 February 1816, in Chalon-sur-Saône (Saône-et-Loire); died 15 October 1883, in Farges (Saône-et-Loire).

Painter. Landscapes, still-lifes, animals.

A shopkeeper by trade, Chevrier learned painting as an amateur in the studio of Couture from 1853 to 1855. He made his Salon début in Lyons in 1853-1854, and in Paris in 1859. He continued to exhibit in both cities until 1883. His etchings
