A pupil of Alexandre Cabanel and Henriquel-Dupont, Chiquet exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français (of which he was a member), winning a jury commendation in 1890 and a first-class medal in 1903. He was awarded a bronze medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900. His works include Portrait of Balzac after L. Boulanger,
