Engraver.

He was the inventor of the engraving technique known as the Collas process. At the Paris Salon of 1833 he exhibited a frame containing his attempts at engraving on steel, in imitation of low reliefs and cameos. In 1836 he also invented a method of exact smaller copies of sculpture. His most important work is
