Painter, watercolourist, engraver, lithographer. Portraits, genre scenes.

[not available online]He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyons, taking classes with Bonnefond from 1829 to 1833 and 1835 to 1836, all the time supporting himself by giving his own drawing lessons. He settled in Paris
