Painter, draughtsman. Religious subjects, portraits, local scenes.

During the 18th century, Conte painted a number of portraits and religious paintings. He took part in an expedition to Egypt organised by Napoleon, and during the trip made several sketches, some of which were used and reproduced in the monumental publication about the expedition written by the scholars
