Born 18 July 1845, in Le Manoir de Coat-Congar, Ploujean (Finistère); died 1er March 1875, in Morlaix (Finistère).

Painter (including gouache), engraver (etching), draughtsman, caricaturist, poet.

An untrained artist, he was attracted by etching and was responsible for the self-portrait used as the frontispiece for the first edition of his Golden Love (1873). His enthusiastic biographer, René Martineau, highlights the following
