Bartolomeo studied first with his father, and subsequently with Guido Reni, proving himself a highly capable draughtsman and engraver. He was active in Bologna from 1630 to 1647, often reproducing works by Reni, and Guercino. He was granted an income by Pope Urban III, in recognition of
