Adolphe Cossard executed esoteric compositions in an Art Nouveau style and decorated the frames of his paintings, following the precepts of Maurice Denis. His stylised figures, kinds of illuminated apparitions, recall the art of Gustave Moreau. He exhibited landscapes of the south of France, Corsica and North Africa
