Born 11 March 1846, in Paris; died 1897, in Paris.

Engraver (etching).

He worked for an architect from the age of 14, and then took drawing lessons at the École des Arts Décoratifs in the Rue de École-de-Médecine and decided to take up engraving. He studied under Gaucherel and Flameng. In 1868 he produced his first etching, entitled Slave Market, after Gérome.
