István Csok was first a pupil of Gabriel von Hackl at the Kunstakademie in Munich, then studied with William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury in Paris. He usually spent his winters in Paris. He participated in the Exposition Universelle in 1889, receiving a 3rd class medal, and in 1900
