Delvin was a pupil of Th. Caneel at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Ghent, and of J. Portaels and Cluysenaar at the Académie in Brussels. He made a study voyage to Spain. He taught at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and later became its director. His bullfights recall
