Painter, watercolourist, draughtsman, illustrator.

Before World War I Jules Depaquit contributed to many publications aimed at young people. During the war he produced illustrations for satirical journals. His work, though deliberately awkward and childlike, lacked neither fluidity nor imagination. He was the first mayor of the 'Commune Libre de Montmartre'.
