The elder brother of Louis Pierre Deseine, Claude André Deseine was deaf-mute from birth. He was a student of Pajou, and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1791 and 1793. He produced busts of Mirabeau, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Abbé de l'Épée
