Born 7 July 1799, in Paris; died 1870 or 1872, in Paris.

Sculptor.

In 1813, Desprez enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts and was taught by Baron Bosio. In 1822, he won second prize in the Prix de Rome, and won the main prize in 1826 with Death of Orion. He won a second-class medal in 1831 and first-class in 1843. In
