Born 23 June 1805, in Pyrmont; died 6 April 1882, in Berlin.

Sculptor.

Friedrich Drake was intended to become a mechanic but rejected this in favour of sculpture. He became a pupil of Rauch and very quickly acquired a considerable reputation in Germany. In 1836 he executed the very large statue of Justus Moeser for the town of Osnabrück, then two marble statues
