Louis Jules Dumoulin was a pupil of Henri Gervex. He exhibited regularly in Paris, beginning in 1879 with Near Fontainebleau at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a member. The Salon awarded him a commendation in 1887. In 1890, he co-founded the Société Nationale
