Painter, draughtsman (including red chalk), decorative designer. Historical subjects, religious subjects, mythological subjects, allegorical subjects, genre scenes, portraits, figures. Theatre decoration.

Louis Durameau studied at the École des Élèves Protégés under Jean-Baptiste Pierre and Carle Vanloo. In 1756 he won the second and in 1757 the Grand Prix de Rome.
