Born 1694, in Stratford (Essex); died 1773, in Plaistow.

Painter, watercolourist. Natural history (animals).

George Edwards visited Holland, Norway, Belgium and France from 1716 to 1731. In 1733 he was named librarian of the College of Physics. From 1747 to 1751, he published a Natural History of Rare Birds and Animals.
