Painter (gouache), watercolourist, engraver, draughtsman. Genre scenes, landscapes, animals.

A pupil of Descamps at Rouen, in 1782 Charles Eschard was registered at the Académie de Paris, but not having submitted his admission work his name was deleted in 1783. He visited Holland and Savoy which inspired the landscapes he sent to the Salon
