Richard Evans was employed for a short time by Sir Thomas Lawrence to execute the backgrounds and draperies of his paintings. The copies of Raphael's arabesques in the Victoria and Albert Museum, and (in the style of Lawrence) portraits of Sir Thomas Lawrence, Lord Thurlow and Thomas
