Joseph Hugues Fabisch studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Aix. From 1846 to 1878 he exhibited at the Paris Salon. His best-known works include Mary Magdalene (marble statue) and Beatrix (marble statue). He was appointed lecturer at the Lyons École des Beaux-Arts on 28 February
