Born 8 February 1862, in Vienna, to Hungarian parents; died 1917.

Painter. Religious subjects, figures, portraits, genre scenes.

Karoly Ferenczy was a student of Bouguereau and of Tony Robert-Fleury in Paris for three years. His early work was marked by his sensitive feeling for nature. In 1896 he founded the Nagybanya group, which was to Hungary what Barbizon was in France.
