Jean Jacques Flipart was the eldest son of Jean Charles Flipart. Biographers do not agree on the date of his birth, some giving 1719, others 1723. Since his death certificate gives his age as 68, 1714 seems preferable. He was the pupil of his father, Peronneau, P. Aveline and Laurent Cars. He
