Painter, engraver, lithographer. Landscapes, landscapes with figures.

He studied under the Lyons lithographer J. Brunet, subsequently becoming the latter's son-in-law and successor. He also took painting courses at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyons as of 1820, studying under Augustin Thierriat and Jean Duclaux.
