Born 30 August 1883, in Merate; died 13 December 1953, in Merate.

Painter. Portraits, self-portraits, landscapes, urban landscapes, waterscapes, seascapes, still-lifes.

Donato Frisia, whose father was a decorative artist, studied at the Accademia di Brera, Milan, where he was taught by Cesare Tallone, Enrico Butti and Camillo Boito. From 1919, he frequently travelled to Paris, where he formed an association with Modigliani.
