Pierre Gandon studied under Cormon. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received various awards. He executed a major composition for the Tourism Pavilion at the International Exhibition of 1937. In 1922 he was awarded a travel bursary and the Prix de la Ville de Paris
