Painter, draughtsman. Religious subjects, mythological subjects, portraits, landscapes.

Luigi Garzi studied in his native Pistoia under S. Boccali and then in Rome under Andrea Sacchi; he was a contemporary (and rival) of Carlo Maratti. His principal paintings in Rome include decorative compositions for the cupola of the Cibo chapel
