Marie Laurence Gaudrat did not receive formal training in art, but she was guided by Maurice Mazo who followed the teachings of Othon Friesz at the Académie de la Grande-Chaumière. Her experience with the restoration team at the Assemblée Nationale in 1974, 1983 and 1985 would also prove valuable. In
